Vocabulary

Carriage or Trailor

Hello everyone

I want to ask about these two vocabularies:

Carriage and Trailor

Is it correct to use these two vocabularies in the metro, or one of them is used for the train and the other one is used for metro??

Thanks in advance

"Carriage" is used very infrequently (at least in the US) to describe a train car, but trailer is never used.

Hi,

In Canada, I'd speak of a train carriage or a subway car.

Montreal uses the word 'metro', but in Toronto we call it 'the subway'.

Thanks clive, very useful answer, It's not about Canada, the question was just in general, you know in Montreal using any word in French environment would be useless, although I like people there.
