'cargo hold' and 'cargo bay'

I see the cargo hold on a ship or aircraft to me a cargo bay is a loading bay (so somewhere that you could load the cargo hold). I haven't checked out you definitions but don't forget if you are using Wiki or sites by that the definition is written but isn't always the approved version particularly when there are regional differences.
