Care for each other/ Care about each other

Care for each other or care about each other? I chose the latter, but I just want to know if it is grammatically correct. To be honest, both sound the same to me. The sentence is "You are alone now, so you must care for/about each other."

If the meaning is that they will share interests and concerns, either works. If the meaning is that they will tend to the needs of each other, care for works better.
