Carbon copy (cc) of a letter

When putting cc on a letter, do you modify your letter to address the person you are copying or just simply send them a copy of the letter?

Thanks!

Simply send them a copy of the letter.

Add the cc notation to the bottom of the letter. Make a copy. Highlight (yellow) the cc: and [NAME] on the copy. Send the original to the addressee recipient; send the copy to the cc recipient. No need to modify the letter other than adding the cc notation.

No don't modify the letter, use the original sender and just put

CC and the person you are copying's name.
