Car tuning

Hello!
Does 'car tuning' only refer to tuning the engine? If so, what do you call other work done to change the car?

Hi demicjusz.

Suspension can also be 'tuned', as can aerodynamics. You could also use 'modify' or 'enhance' when describing actions that improve the performance of a vehicle.
As MrP says, maintenance is 'service' or 'repairs' - both of which my car badly needs

But I guess that "tune" always means "enhance", "make better" "optimize", whatever, BUT without there being anything faulty, right?

Yes, in a way. Tune means adjust to an appropriate setting.

Yes, for a piano, right?
Does "tune up" exist? I guess so...

Yes, musical instruments can be tuned, equipment can be tuned, even plans can be tuned.
Have I have overlooked any other tunables?

You mean; tune in to someone's mood (percieve, ascertain their mood)? I guess that might be possible.

Some of us remember tuning our radios.

Perhaps 'to tune in to someone's mood' is a metaphor from radio, whereas 'to tune a piece of equipment' is a metaphor from musical instruments.

(Only a guess.)

An orchestra 'tunes up'.
