My mom is leasing a car for me. And I go:

"Don't do it for me, because I don't like that car."

OR

"Don't do it for me, because I don't like the car."

Are both good?

I think "that" is better because it shows more of which car you are talking. It's demonstrative. Personally, I would even choose "this".
