I acceleated the car, not waiting the light to turn green. I saw the bad men throwing bottles at me in the mirror.

I saw the bad men throwing bottles at me in the mirror.
The place of the in the mirroris creating confusion here. One may think the bottles were thrown to me and I was in the mirror.
