Capitalizing after a semicolon

Hello,

Do you capitalize after a semicolon in this case?

This a note for a table in a paper:

NOTE: The years in parentheses; the periods in brackets.

Do you capitalize "the" in front of "periods" in the above sentence?

Thanks.

No, you do not capitalise after a semicolon. However, your example is not a sentence and does not represent the correct use of the semicolon. Rover
