Capitalization question

I have written a passage with the following list:

Santa Claus, the King, or the police.

and am unsure if I should use a capital K in King. The illustration will show a regal king in a castle. It does not refer to a specific king (like the King of France), just a generic king. Should I use a lowercase k?

Also, I am pretty sure that I should not capitalize the police, or should I? Again, it refers to a generic police force.

Sincerely,

David Lenti

king and police do not need a capital letter because, as you point out, they are generics not specifics.
