I'd use a capital if I were using the word as a proper noun, ie as a name.

eg I love my mom.
eg I love you, Mom.

Usually when they're being used as proper names.

Every Friday, I go shopping with Mom and Dad.

The case of "brother" is probably a bit more problematic, since the word is not always used in its literal sense. You may want to wait for other opinions.
