Capitalization

Hello,

Is the following sentence correct re: capitalization?

I once taught a business English course.

My thought is that it's correct. Business denotes the type of class and not a title. Am I right?

Many kind thanks for anyone who responds.

If you're talking about a class called "Business English" then it would be appropriate to capitalise "Business". If you're using "business English" as a generic descriptive term then "business" should not be capitalised. The rest of the sentence (and the use of the indefinite article) tends to suggest the latter, but it's hard to be sure.

  • It could be one of those debatable cases.
