Capital required?

0Hi I have to write a letter/email to some trainee teachers. I wish to begin... Dear trainee. A colleague has suggested that 'trainee' here needs a capital as it is in place of a name. I've not heard of this and thought it was only relevant if you are talking about family members eg, Mum, Dad etc02br
00Can anyone clarify please?02br

0 There is no need for it in this context. It is not a title, but a statement of position.0-
