Capital etters or no capital letters?

When writing in a Christmas card the following:

We all join in wishing you a happy holiday season and a wonderful, prosperous new year.

should there be capital letters at the beginning of "holiday", "season", "new", & "year"?

I suspect New Year should have them, but what about happy Holiday Season?

In the context of Christmas Cards, I would capitalize "Holiday Season," if you are writing it as: Happy Holiday Season to the Smiths from the Joneses! If you are writing it in a sentence in a note on the card, I would not capitalize it: Hope this card finds you all well and enjoying a happy holiday season with those nearest and dearest. Wish we could see you!

  • " In that context, it is just talking about the year that is coming, and not the holiday.
