wow, I got confused as well!)
why is it present perfect and the word always in the middle?
why it is not just:" Do you always take a lot of....?"?????

English tenses are difficult! They can be used to make fine distinctions in meaning.

I have always taken lots of pictures

is sutlely different from I always take lots of pictures.

In the first sentence the focus is historic, on their life up to now.

Eg. I am miserable, I have always taken lots of pictures, but now I've lost my camera so I can't take any. :-(.

In the second sentence the focus is current.

what do you do in your free-time? I always take lots of pictures.
