Can't understand

I read in the newspaper and can't understand the phrases in bold type below:

1/ By early yesterday 11 farms had been infected with H5N1 bird flu viruses.

2/ An estimated 8 million undocumented people live in th US illegally.

3/ The annual golf competition wrapped up at Ho Chi Minh City Thu Duc Golf course.

Please help me understand these phrases
