Can't stand someone

Hello,

I know when people say they can't stand someone, they mean they can't tolerate someone due to some reasons. But does it mean they hate them too? (I personally think it's not deducted directly, I mean you might like someone but can't tolerate some behaviors. Am I right?)

Thanks.
