Can't make out a word in an audio file

Hi,

I failed to make out a word in this file which is one of the daily programs of an English learning magazine.

The file: mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20090228baa.wma
or mms://air.hihit.net/studio/20090228ba.wma
(These have to be played with Windows Media Player software)

Around 05:26.
"Manatees are large fish. And they are sort of like [?], and they have flippers."

brig?

Hi, I heard 'they're sort of like a blip' . You'll find the word 'blip' in your dictionary, but I have no idea what that means in this context. I wonder if there was a word simply missing in her script, and so she just said 'blip'?

  • 'A blip' can mean an indistinct shape on a radar screen.
  • Are they using one at all?

'A blip' can mean an indistinct shape on a radar screen. Are they using one at all? Or a sonar scan?

Just wanted to point out that manatees are NOT fish, large or otherwise!
