One more thing, how can "Feel" be a verb if it is followed by "is"?

Hi,

One more thing, how can "Feel" be a verb if it is followed by "is"?

The underlying meaning is 'they personally feel (that) something is wrong'.

I guess that, really, I should have flagged 'is' in pink as a third verb in the part that was underlined.

doing something that they feel is wrong
=
doing something that [they feel (that it)] is wrong

Two verbs (or more) in succession is quite common. The verbs belong to different clauses.

The apples [they bought] have worms.
The book [Phil read] inspired him to become an engineer.
The man [ [we thought] had died ] was just asleep.
