can't find the right word...

Hi,

A stretcher is something paramedics, etc. use to carry a patient who is too ill or injured to walk....it is clear enough...

A wheelbarrow is something we use to carry various heavy enough objects in the garden, etc.

A handbarrow is another word for wheelbarrow? A typical handbarrow will have a wheel, right?

What is the English for a tool (often used e.g. by construction workers) that looks like a "stretcher" (it too requires two labourers) but is used to carry various inanimate things?

hope my question makes sense to you...

I had to look the word up. A handbarrow is so called because it is moved by hand; it has no wheel. People sometimes shorten the word "wheelbarrow" to "barrow".
