Can't bear

The table can't bear this much weight. It will break easily.

Please check the sentence.

Is "can't bear" okay or Any suitable phrasal verb required?

  • The second sentence is correct in itself too, but, to me, there is something slightly unsatisfactory about the combination of the two, possibly because the second sentence seems too general to back up the first.

The first sentence is fine. The second sentence is correct in itself too, but, to me, there is something slightly unsatisfactory about the combination of the two, possibly because the second sentence seems too general to back up the first. For me, this would be better:
