Canning

Hi,

When you make pickles, pickled cauliflower or paprika, can you say that you:

‘do a lot of canning’?

It sounds a bit strange, but I was wondering if ‘canning’ could be used in a similar way.

Thank you.

Back in the day, I'm pretty sure my mother would have called it canning. (AmE)
