Can you use "in which" for "when" in this sentence?

When you want to say:

1)I was born in1989, when the Berlin Wall was torn down.

But, can you say like 2) below with the same meaning?

2)I was born in1989, in which the Berlin Wall was torn down.

I think I can, but not very confident.

Thank you for your help!

2)I was born in1989, in which the Berlin Wall was torn down. Not exactly. The proper wording, in my opinion, is this: I was born in 1989, the year in which the Berlin Wall was torn down.
