Can you tell me where the ice-cream is

I'm wondering if I need the article "the" in this sentence: "Can you tell me where the ice-cream is?"
The context is: I'm in a supermarket, shopping for some ice cream and I ask someone from the staff to tell me where I can find it.
Does my sentence sound right?

Thank you

Hotmale Does my sentence sound right? Yes. And you can leave out "the" if you want, but it seems to me that it is usually used.
