Can you tell me what you think, someone said they were wrong

Could you please tell me if these are correctly corrected , someone said they were wrong?

She thinks she knows better than a confirmed doctor and she's only at school to be one. confirmed doctor?? at school to be one??

We've been here longer than we were in Los Angeles. not sure "been" goes with "were"

The door is so slow to close. I'm not sure you can say "slow to close"

Thank you

Hi,

Does confirmed doctor exist? Perhaps qualified physician would fit better. At least, if you're referring to a medical professional.

What about now, The last part " at school to be one" I've never heard that, I made that up myself, How would you change it?

1 She thinks she knows better than an experienced doctor and she's only at school to be one.

Have been isn't correct? That's what the person told me.

2 We've been here longer than we have been in Los Angeles

Thank you
