Can you tell me the meaning of these phrase?

I submitted a manuscipt to a journal ( in elsevier). Current status showed ' editor invited', ' with editor' or ' Technical Check In Progress'. Who can tell me the meaning of these phrase?

Rab; The journal articles must be reviewed by an editor and a group of your peers to affirm its veracity and quality. The editor is the first person (actually it is a editorial department) to review. So "editor invited" means that an editor has been selected to review your article, but he or she has not responded.

  • "With editor" means that the editor is selected, has accepted, and is currently reviewing it.
  • "Technical check in progress" probably means that the editor has finished the review, but the article is in the peer review process..
