My name is xxxx and I am from . I would like to apply for a DAAD Scholarship. I have a University Diploma in Journalism and Mass Media Communication, which I obtained after 4 years of studying in Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki. My aim since the first day in University was to continue my studies in .

So now I am applying for a Study Scolarship at your Service so I can continue my studies and make a post graduate course at the following universities:

During my studies i have always been interested in Kommunikationwissenschaft and the theoretical aspects of Journalism, Mass Media and Culture. All my projects were in this area and my final project was “Movements of Anticulture and Counter Spectacle”. This project presented all the theoretical and practical movements that stated a different opinion about culture and mass media. The focus was on the work of the “”, Theodor Adorno , Max Horkheimer , etc and after that in all post modern theories about media.

My desire to study in has its grounds in many reasons.

First of all the German educational system is one of the most renowned and famous. Organised, with very good infrastructures, very good teaching staff, perspectives for the students and interesting research work.

The academic environment, the opportunities you are given to learn and improve at your field are also very attractive facts.

Compared to Greek, German Universities provide studies of high quality and especially in the field I want to continue my studies : Mass Media and Communication. Germany has so many postgraduate studies in this field where as offers only a handful of them.

Another fact that motivated me to apply for a scholarship in a is the German culture. has a rich cultural and spiritual heritance. I would like to see for myself and live in das Land der Dichter und Denker. Goethe, Schiller, Rilke, Mann , Hesse, Hegel, Marx Feuerbach, Schopenhauer, Bertold Brecht are only some examples of German writers and poets I admire. And not only. Nowadays, ideas, innovative theories and social organization models origin from .

I would also like to live and study in so I can perfect my skills in German language and be able to read the German literature, poetry and philosophy in their original writing without problems.

And especially in the field of Media, Culture and Society in which I am interested has a lot to show with many german philosophers and thinkers (Walter Benjamin) and schools being the top in research. So I would like to study and live in in order to be able to experience high standarded education and research. Study in a university where ideas, discussions, political, social and cultural matters are of high importance.

On the other hand my educational background as well as my working experience guarantees that I can adjust well and offer a lot while studying to the fellow students and to the university I will be attending.



The organization and structure of german universities is a plus for foreign students. From what I know and what I have experienced so far foreign students are given any help they need in order to have a nice, comfort and pleasant stay in . There are a lot of programs and a lot of conveniences for foreign students. has a good way of integrating and absorbing foreigners and makes them part of german society and not leave them in the edge.

My personal intention is to make a Master and then a PhD and follow an academic career as a university teacher. I think is the ideal place to study more and gain as much knowledge, experience I can. I hope my Master there will help me come closer to my target and provide me with all the necessary in order to fulfill my dreams.
