Can you proof-read/correct this text? Please!

Sorry, it's a bit tedious.. You don't have to be a linguistics geek or anything, just check if the sentences sound alright (I suspect they aren't) and more importantly if you see that certain scientific terms are off please correct that too, thx!

This present work deals with the study of word-play devices in English fiction.
The theme of this work appears to be of scientific interest due to its having been insufficiently studied so far and the necessity of more in-depth analysis of the range of problems that it presents in its being a form of intentional deviation from the linguistic norm or, in other words, deliberate violation of the linguistic standard on the word-formation level.
This present work contributes to the development of a more adequate understanding of certain heretofore poorly researched aspects of the English lexicology, word-formation and stylistics and facilitates further expansion of our views on the English word-formation system.
The object of this study are works of fiction written in English.
The subject of the study is word-play in English day-to-day speech and literary fiction.
The objective of the present study is to analyze word-play devices in English literary texts, with a particular stress on the various types of word-formation.
The accomplishment of the formulated objective implies that the following goals must be achieved:
1)define and analyze word-play devices;
2)demonstrate the role of said devices in producing a literary effect on the audience;
3)define the structural peculiarities of author-specific literary innovation.

I would use scholarly or academic in place of scientific. (scientific interest)
I would reconsider the phrase this work appears to be. If it is your opinion, then say that.

I would not hyphenate word formation.

Word-play is OK as
