Hello, I am just saving all topics created by me for IELTS Speaking Part 2, can you please check and explain my mistakes on the following text ?

When I was in school, I received a letter from my friend Nick. He is my close friend of mine with whom we went to school together, but then he left the school after the grade nine. I have not seen him in a while after that, as it turned out he went to study in England. He then successfully graduated the University of Cambridge. Although he was a clever boy, it was not easy to get used to England. However, he said it was exciting for him to explore the new country. He has a habit of finding the adventures on his head. His studies was paid by his parents, but after some time they got problems with finances.
Therefore, he had to pay the rest of money by himself for his studies. It became a very tough period in his life since he found out this from his parents. He had to look for some temporary job
1 ????? later he got a job as a waiter in a restauraunt. Thus, in the afternoon he went to school and he had to work in the evening for paying the rest of the money for his tuition fees .
However, as he told that he benefit a lot from working as a waiter as he learned to do some things. He became a more organized person after this job.
Afterwards, he met an interesting person who offered him a job in his estate agency. Working on this job, my friend bought a small house in the suburb of London and successfully paid the tuition fees of the Cambridge University.
The most important thing in this story is when my friend settled everything down in his life, he invited me to visit the London and therefore meet each other and so on.
As far as I dreamed to visit London since I was a little kid and missed my classmate, I was really delighted with the proposal.
Finally, my dream came true.
