List and explain why these courses had to be dropped/repeated/withdrawn:
HIS 1053 US History Civil War to Present - Withdraw - Fall 2005 History is not one of my strengths in academia and requires more time from me than other courses, so, I figured at that moment my course load, living conditions, and financial circumstances were incompatible, thus, withdrawing from this course was the proper decision for me.
MAT 1214 Calculus I - Withdrawn - Spring 2005 I did not understand the professor's English either in lecture or one-on-one conversation. At that time I was chemistry major and understanding the Calculus I was an integral part of it. This lead me to believe if I cannot obtain a good grasp on Calculus I then it can hinder my understanding of thermodynamics, physical chemistry, and instrumental analysis later on in my college education as an chemistry major.
BIO 3433 Neurobiology - Withdrawn - Fall 2007 I took neurobiology simply because I am captivated by the most complex organ of the body "The Brain." Such factors as work schedule, financial need, and grades of other courses caused me to decide to drop one of my courses. Obviously, I had to pick the least important course to my major at that time, which is neurology, ironically my favorite course.
5. What do you like or dislike most about the area you are from (hometown)? *
In my recent trip to , I ran into the same question with a completely random stranger who was a bus driver. I don’t recall how I answered but I do remember his answer “wherever my family is, that’s the place I consider my hometown.” Now having the time to think about the bus drivers’ response I understand that I can go home anytime with the surety that I will be engulfed in serenity and peace by family and friends and that is clearly the most likeable part of my hometown is the fact that my family lives there, hands down.
6. Please describe what you would see as the "ideal" practice for you. (where, type of practice --- clinic, hospital, both, speciality, who would be your patients, etc.) *
Right now, my intention is not be just a primary doctor, rather I want to specialize in whatever is scarce, but, nevertheless, I also want to be able to provide a large range of services including primary care to my fellow human beings. My ideal practice is located in or any other third world country in need of a FREE hospital. Every weekend I, along with my colleague would stretch out to the small villages and rural areas close to the location of the hospital to supply our services to whose who cannot make it to the hospital due to lack of transportation. The Majority of the patients are people who are poverty stricken and are unable to get the mandatory care for his/her illness.
7. Please tell us about your favorite recreational/leisure activities? *
My favorite recreational/leisure activity is playing basketball. The beauty of the game is only grasped when one starts to consider factors that to a win a pick up game requires teamwork with random people whom you just met. Personally, what amazes me is how one can contribute without actually scoring a basket either by hustling, defending, or even simply pointing out for the blind spot defender. The game of basketball is like chess, for every action there is a reaction, and what it boils down is the fact how can you use your god-given ability whether physically or mentally to outsmart your opponent as a individual and more importantly, collectively as a team.
