Statement of my Successful Business Management in Australia
My name is Thao Mai Thi Hoang from Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. I am the main applicant for visa 888. I got my Visa on the 28th of April 2015 and I arrived in Australia on the 03rd July 2015 and started to explore different potential business places and opportunities all around Melbourne. After a long period of thinking and investigating, with the aim of creating a financially stable company with a strong management to penetrate and also develop in the market in Melbourne, Trung Hau Pty Ltd was established on April 12, 2016 with the capital contribution of the two families: Thao Mai Thi Hoang’s and Tri Tue Tran’s (who have been working together as ideal partners and got successful achievements in Vietnam), for each family taking 50% of the capital contribution.
We decided to purchase a coffee shop - My Sista Says Café located in 118 Bridge Street, Port Melbourne, VIC 3207. We chose this Coffee shop mainly because we will offer high-quality fresh food and coffee with a menu that caters for Australian tastes. Breakfast, lunch provided to local city workers, residents, shoppers and tourists in the busy Port Melbourne. After taking over, we have been personally responsible for the operation of the business in Victoria and for creating a team of local employees that have the ability to provide a high-quality menu and superior coffee offer that can be delivered to customers promptly. Aside from the local favorites, the café will offer a menu with a healthy Asian influence to differentiate its offering in a competitive market. We also plan to diversify our business by offering catering services for local business meetings and conferences. After all our effort, the market for the provision of catering services has been a viable growth sector.
We also decided to purchase an Asian Grocery store located in 29 Wallace Square, Melton, VIC 3337. We chose this store mainly because it was quite an Ideal place since it was located in the middle of a crowded neighborhood with lots of different restaurants which then potentially can attract more customers. After purchasing the shop, we decided to add more stocks for different cultures such as Fiji, Samoan, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc… and from what we learned, before we added more stocks for different cultures they often had to travel to Sunshine or St. Albans which was slightly inconvenient for them but now that had changed. We have tried to find some new suppliers to supply new stocks for our shop, especially Asian foods, and veggies. Under our new management, our shop has changed a lot. There are more customers come to our shop for shopping every day, they are so happy because they don’t have to go far to buy Asian foods and Asian veggies.
After more than two years of studying the Australian market and after 6 months of taking over a coffee shop as well as a grocery store, the two shops have been operated systematically stably. With the vision that Australia is still a big market for import as well as export, we decided to make a strategy for our company in the five years as follow:
One of the biggest challenges that we had faced during the business is to decide what products to sell that could attract the customers. We always had to make sure that our products had to be at a lower price or equal compared to the other competitors. We created a list of all the products that we were selling at that time and kept records of it and since we did not know what products were the best selling and other potential products that will, fortunately, bring more customers into our business, our purchased most of the same products as the previous owners did and added more stocks afterward. In order to know the market price, we visited different competitors and got to know the market price. In terms of choosing suppliers, we got in touched with the old owner’s suppliers to extend or maintain deals and prices. We created a good relationship with our suppliers that would eventually allow us to be amongst the first to know if there were new deals coming up in the future.
We have managed to 2 shops for more than 2 years, I definitely believe in my ability can do the business in Australia. There were tough times and also good times but by looking back now it was rather educational and rewarding as I got to know more about the Australian retail market and economy. For the past two years from the experience, I had learned such as management skills and negotiating and learning more about the market price, it will definitely help me in the future to maintain a sustainable business. I believe that Australia will be a very good choice to live and run business since the economy here is quite sustainable. Now I confident to apply for my PR in order so I will have settle living in Australia for my family. I hope you will approve for my family to get a Permanent Visa, I will try my best to work in Australia. Thank you very much for your approvement.
