Topic:Scientists predict in the near future cars will be driven by computers, not people. Why? Do you think it is a positive or negative development?Human has achieved significant breakthroughs in technology, especially in automation in which machinery is placing manual workers in multiple factories around the world. It is said that this trend would be applicable in car driving and that vehicle drivers would soon be replaced with computers. In my opinion, there are certain reasons for this prediction, and this replacement would have both the pros and cons.Scientific research has proved that it is possible for computer software to drive automobiles effectively. Recent results from simulation testing even show that car driving programmes are able to outperform real people in this job. Another factor that fosters this development is cost-effectiveness; in general, people have the motive to find alternative solutions that make transportation at least as effective as it currently is and at the same time save costs.In addition, there are some other benefits such as decrease in traffic congestion and lower levels of car accidents. Artificial intelligence now can evaluate traffic situations in a large number of intersections and then drive the car to follow the least crowded roads in order to reduce commuting time for passengers. This would undoubtedly help to equalise vehicle flows between streets and lessen the possibility of traffic jams. Computer software is also able to assess risks of being hit by other cars so that it leads the car the most safely.However, this expected replacement has its inherent drawbacks. Firstly, some jobs would be lost and the unemployment rate would increase as people are longer needed in these occupations. For example, taxi drivers and personnel in taxi hiring businesses would have to seek other jobs to survive. Secondly, driving is one of the interests of many people; therefore, they would feel that their quality of life would not be as satisfactory as I is now.In conclusion, it is understandable that the role of computers will become increasingly important in the near future to a point that they will be replacing car drivers. It seems to me that the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages.

BECOMING THE AFRICAN UNION YOUTH VOLUNTEER PROGRAM MEMBER
I am interested in becoming an African Union Youth Volunteer because I find something incredibly satisfying about acting in a way that is consistent with my principles. Being able to say I changed something in Africa, in the lives of others, gives meaning to my being here beyond simply looking after myself. I believe volunteering is an excellent way to boost my career prospects and will help me create a positive impression, make me more innovative, creative and gives me a range of useful skills which will in turn help in the political, economic and social development of Africa. Or maybe it’s the warm sensation in my heart or the contagious smiles shared between myself and the recipients of my service. As a volunteer I will tend to find the imperfections in Africa and work towards improving these flaws through acts of kindness, dedication, and selflessness. Helping others without receiving anything in return aids community members, benefits your mind and soul and most importantly, “...brings fulfillment and fun to your life.” This opportunity will also prepare me for leadership; empowerment and development roles in the future thus helping to achieve my goal of empowering women and young girls and lifting of underprivileged people.
My goal is to become an exemplary leader in my community who will actively participate and empower people most especially in the areas of women empowerment and the protection and promotion of the rights of the girl child since they are most of the time relegated to the background and thus leading to underdevelopment.
