The line graph compares the number of daily viewers on Channel One news over a year, which was broadcast at four different times: 1 pm, 6 pm, 9:30 pm, and 11 pm every day.

Overall, the 6 pm news attracted the most people over the year, although there was a short interval where it was overtaken by the 11 pm news. While a dip was visible in the 9:30 pm news, the relative viewers in 1 pm news did not change.

In the first month, the 6 pm news was the most popular, with nearly 5 million viewers per day, coming in second was the 9:30 pm news, with above 3 million. For the following 8 months, viewers of the news shown at 6 pm varied considerably and dropped to roughly 3.3 million, while the 9:30 pm news hit a trough of merely 1 million after a moderate increase from January to May. By contrast, the 11 pm news, released on 1^st May with just about 100 thousand viewers, surged to a peak of more than 4 million, surpassed the 6 pm news by almost 700 thousand in August.

In the last three months, negative trend lines were occurred in the 6 pm news and the 11 pm news, with the former falling by approximately 800 thousand and the latter more precipitously to under 1 million in December. That of the 9:30 pm news followed an opposite trajectory, tripling to 3 million and came back to its second-place position as in January. The 1 pm news was an exception to changes, hovering around 1.3 million daily viewers over the entire year.
