Information techonology enables many people to do their work outside their workplace (e.g. at home, when traveling, etc). Do the benefits of this mobility outweigh the disadvantages?

In recent year, thanks to the advance in information technology, more and more people are being able to do their work outside the office. In my opinion, despite some drawbacks of this trend, the advantages are far more significant.

On the one hand, working outside does have some disadvantages. Firstly, it is not easy to concentrate on your work if you cannot find a suitable place. People who do their work at home might be distracted by noisy neighbors or crying babies. Besides, working alone can be boring and less self-motivated than to work with other colleagues. In fact, people don't have anyone to discuss with and there are no guidance from the boss which can help them to improve their quality of work.Finally, with the advanced technology, now the employers and customers can contact the employees anytime, anywhere which might cause stress to them if they are on vacation and just want to relax.

On the other hand, being able to work anywhere outside the workplace provides people with great freedom and opportunity to apply for jobs from international companies. For examples, people living in Thailand can appply for jobs such as online marketing or translating from an America enterprise. Furthermore, people can actively choose to work where they most feel comfortable at, writers can enjoy writing in a cozy cafe, bloggers can travel to another country for inspiring ideas. This would help them greatly to be more creative and boost their work performance. On top of that, for the start-up business which doesn't have much money, allowing their employees to work at home means that they don't need to rent an office and this amount of money can be used for developing other projects.

In conclusion, although the information technology has some drawbacks, I would argue that its advantages greatly benefit people in many aspect of both work and life.
