"What can young people do to help protect their local environment?

Here's my writing:

It goes without saying that environmental pollution is one of the most important issues facing us today. As young people, we have many useful ways to save and protect our local environment.

To start with, young people should learn to recycle things. They can collect used bottles or even their old clothes and turn them into simple new products. For example, we can create lovely pencil boxes from bottles and cans can be used to make flower vases.

Secondly, it is worth considering that the air is getting worse day by day. To improve this, bicycles and public transport should be encouraged to use more as an alternative to cars. Instead of being taken to school by parents, students who live near schools can go to school by bikes, which is not only good for their health, but also helps reduce the amount of polluted air released into the environment.

Another viable solution is to plant more trees in schools so as to help improve the air. Therefore, the school will look more friendly with the environment, and students can sit under the shade of trees to play.

In conclusion, by doing these simple things, together, we can make our city, and even the world a more beautiful place.
