Can you please check my cover letter?
Dear Sirs or Madam,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Master of International Tax Program. I believe that my practical work experience as a legal adviser in the Kibenko, Onika & Partners Law company, in combination with my recent education at the National Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy where I gained Bachelor’s degree with honours and Master's degree with honours, ideally prepares me for this program.
After graduation from the Law Academy, I started my career in the private sector as a lawyer. I specialize in commercial law. My duties include not only handling of business contracts of my clients’ companies but also making of complaints, claims, statements of claim, representation of my clients in different authorities and dealing with any arising legal problems faced by my Ukrainian clients.
Then I have run my own business. My service provides legal support for Apple Developers. It is oriented towards Russian and Ukrainian Apple Apps Developers. I provide consultations in different legal matters concerned with Apple Company such as an opening Apple developer’s account, selection appropriate jurisdiction for Developer’s Company, tax consultations, etc. Also, I help to correspond with Apple team in different matters such as issue of new applications on the AppStore, rejections and deletions of applications, complaints and infringement of copyright.
I don’t want to rest on my laurels so I always aspire to professional development. Recently Ukraine has done first steps toward the international scene entrance. The Free Trade Area was opened between EU and Ukraine on 1 January 2016. All Ukrainian business will be reorganized for cooperation with international partners in the near future. And as a result of such changes I conceived a desire to alter my field of activity on multi-jurisdictional legal practice. I haven’t received international working experience yet. That is why I don’t want to be left behind and want to develop and improve my professional skills. I think, it is very important to gain LLM degree which has international recognition and gives me the opportunity to get invaluable experience to operate in the worldwide area. I want to pursue my master’s in International Tax Law. This will be an ideal platform for me to get knowledge about how is working business outside of Ukraine and as well to develop strong working skills.
The chance to get LLM degree in the University of Melbourne would be a tremendous opportunity and honor. I believe that my academical and professional training, combined with my passion and purposefulness, make me a strong candidate for the Master of International Tax Program.
