can you not cry?

My daughter often cry when she goes to the daycare at the door of dacare before entering. Can I say

"Can you not cry today at the daycare?"

Or

"Can you try not to cry at the daycare?" When leaving the home.

Any better way to say?

I am not sure.
Almost same to me.

They have limited use in that form, but they are natural enough in the right conversation, as when you are asking someone not to do something and you are frustrated by their behaviour.
