Can you highlight the mistakes in my paragraphs
1. Local Abortion Clinic Re Opens- The proximity in this article are the local residents of Shreveport, Louisiana. The reason why residents in Shreveport care about the reopening of this clinic is because it affects them the most. The clinic is in their city and probably will affect one of their family members. Now, the conflict is that some want the clinic to be closed because of what they call health and safety concerns. However, some want the clinic to be open including the director of the clinic.
2. Board hopefuls report finances- This story proves to be a conflict. The conflict is that Curtis Hook was the only candidate from the District 5 Caddo Race to file his financial report. The other candidates cited that the rule is if you raise less than $200 dollars or spent less than $5,000 dollars, you are not required to file a financial report.
3. Ban Stymies almost all Gulf Drilling- This story informs us, the reader, about the problems that the BP Oil Spill has caused to offshore drilling, and about all the jobs that were loss because of it. The conflict is that environmental groups like the idea of drillers facing tougher federal rules because of the Oil Spill. However, drilling executives think the new rules are wasting millions of dollars and causing delays that have led to layoffs.
4. Tourist bureaus announce conventions- The locals in Shreveport, Louisiana are considered the proximity for this article. The timelines of this story is that the conventions will start in December, which is earlier than expected.
5. Michael Vick will start for Eagles on Sunday- Michael Vick, a famous football player, is this article's prominence. This story's conflict is that many dog owners do not want Michael Vick to start and want him banned from the NFL for dog fighting.
6. Yes, the media does select news stories with certain characteristics over other news stories mainly because writers want to keep their audience interested in their stories. Writers select stories that they are sure will get their readers' attention
