The major reason for importing food items from across the world is to serve the customers' requirements while the quantity of local products is not adequate. Furthermore, some places with harsh climate for several crops to grow would probably depend on imports. In addition, diplomacy and worldwide business definitely receive many advantages to this. For instance, the business gain customers through online shopping, which produce a large amount of income. Additionally, the relationships between countries also are improved by meeting about trading.

However, the drawback of imports is worse than nations. One of the major problems is the damage to the traditions and customs of the country. For example, if everyone prefers international products to the domestic one, marketplaces for national items will be disappeared. Moreover, long-distance transportation is also a cost to the environment. By contrast, countries where importation was limited, the number of factories will increase to respond to the demands of nations. Unemployment also is reduced because there are more occupations. The quality of domestic products will be upgraded because of the competition in business. This lead to the increase in consumption which upholds the economics.
