Hi! Please help me to write my letter. Thanks in advance.
My name is XXXXX. I obtained a degree in Oriental Studies at the University of XXXXX, with a mark of 110/110 cum laude, after attending a course focused on China and devoted to teaching language and history.
I specialised my research on People’s Republic of China, United States and Japan relationship in the 1970s, hence the purpose of my thesis was to provide a historical prospective on the formation of US- China –Japan triangle after Nixon’s 1972 visit to Beijing, tracing what situations affected more the trilateral relations and the power’s balance in Asia-Pacific region.
After degree I decided to deepen my knowledges at the Italian Society for International Organization (S.I.O.I.), attending a Training Course on International Functions, organized into four subject areas covering International Law and Organization, Human Rights Protection, Economic and Social Cooperation, European Union Law. In addition a seminar series provided a more detailed knowledge about International Cooperation Projects Planning, Election Assistance and Observation, Information and Communication. A the course’s end I produced an essay about the conditions for the emergence of non governmental organizations in China and their current situations, including government policies and legal environment, also offering a brief account of activities, risks and challenges of international support for Chinese NGOs.
My six months experience in Beijing attending the International Exchange Institute enriched my studies of chinese language, history and culture.
I’m writing this letter because I intend to apply for a scholarship offered by my University for activities of research post lauream, through which I would like to arrive at a better understanding of the relationship between E.U. and China in political, historical, economical and of the human rights prospectives. In this phase my interest is essentially turned to the analysis of European Union foreign policy toward People's Republic of China and Far East during the five years of the Prodi Presidency at the European Commission.
I’m sure that your deep competences in the specific field and your center of documentation would help me in my research work. I would be also much happy being involved in the activities of your centre as an intern.
For the scholarship I need your declaration on headed notepaper which states your availability in following me through my studies within a period of six/twelve months, starting if you agree from October 2006.
