Essay & Composition Writing

Can you help me with this writing ielts task 2, please? Thank you so much.

In recent years, public information of a variety of fields in science or business arouses the argument whether publishing academic information is advantageous or some essential data should be kept in private. From my point of view, the tendency brings out both merits and demerits that need to be discussed in terms of different aspects.

On the one hand, it is indisputable that sharing theoretical knowledge widely can give talented people a chance to access the necessary resources that may assist their projects. There are a lot of scientists who can innovate and be creative, but they can not reach their final result without having a deeper insight into their field. Hence, public academic information seems to be an indispensable tool for them to break the barrier and establish innovation for society. For example, in the past, Albert Einstein couldn’t finish his theory of relativity unless he read all the documents of Thomas Edison and developed his theories based on what he had discovered.

On the other hand, the information of academic fields should not be shared freely due to its devastation and uncontrollably consequences if it is used in the wrong ways. It is deniable that these documents would be a step forward to social development, but somehow it can exacerbate the social safety by people who exploit it for other purposes, such as oppression, spreading new illegal drugs, or even the new pandemic for the areas. For instance, last year an act of terror occurred because some criminals were able to learn how to make explosives using free information on the internet. These circumstances are not permitted and emphasized that information needs to be distinguished, and not to be accessed by everyone.

In conclusion, distributing information free of charge can help in certain aspects but can also be detrimental to society. Although some believe people should give as much knowledge pros and cons as possible, I strongly believe the opposite due to its conceal dangers that may risk people who underestimate the value of information.
