These are my questions. Can you help me, please?

As he was taking a shower, the water finished. (is it correct to say ... the water finished?)

As I was on a diet, I was prohibited from eating any fried food. (is it correct to write: ..I was prohibited from...?)

Whenever we make a blood transfusion, lives are saved. (is the correct :...make a blood transfusion or blood transfusion? )

Whenever the lift is out of order, they have to take the stairs. (is it correct to say: to take the stairs?)

“That’s right. They didn’t walk on the beach because of the sticky sand.” (is it correct: “sticky sand”?)

“That’s right He isn’t going to make the furniture because of the rotten logs.” (is this sentence O.K.?)

I’ll hand in the composition whether it is ready or not. (is it correct to say: hand in as a synonym of deliver in hands, give?)

My comments about your sentences are in blue:

As he was taking a shower, the water finished. (is it correct to say ... the water finished?) No, but you could say something like "stopped", I suppose. (I would also interpret the word "as" to mean "while".)

As I was on a diet, I was prohibited from eating any fried food. (is it correct to write: ..I was prohibited from...?) Yes, and I would interpret the word "as" to mean "because".

Whenever we make a blood transfusion, lives are saved. (is the correct :...make a blood transfusion or blood transfusion? ) Well, yes, I would say "a blood transfusion". However, is that what you actually want to say? Or do you mean something like this:

- Whenever we donate blood, lives are saved.

To my way of thinking, it is the donation of blood that makes blood transfusions possible. However, the people who donate their blood are not usually the people who carry out the transfusion of blood.

Whenever the lift is out of order, they have to take the stairs. (is it correct to say: to take the stairs?) OK

Thanks Yankee for all your attention. Yes, I intended to say: "whenever we donate blood, lives are saved."

Concerning the sentence: "That's right. They didn't walk on the beach because of the sticky sand", as it's not correct so I changed it for: "That's right.They didn't walk on the beach because of the hot sun". Is it O.K. now?

And in the sentence: * "That's right. He isn't going to make furniture because of the rotten logs" . You suggested it: "

"That's right. He isn't going to make furniture with those rotten logs" .

But I have to make a sentence using "because of". So in this case, is * my sentence grammatically correct? If not how could I rewrite it using "because of"?
