I want to apply for a master's degree programme in International and European Tax Law. I would really appreciate it if you could help me correct my grammar mistakes and give suggestions regarding the content.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!
Dear Sir or Madam
I am writing to express my interest in applying for a master's degree programme in International and European Tax Law starting in September 2010.
During the past three and a half years I studied Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences in XXXX, XXXX. I took great interest in the introductory course in corporate taxation. Tax law fascinated me from the very beginning and it became clear to me that I want to achieve a profession in that area. For this reason I chose to major in that subject. By choosing this major I learned, that taxes have significant influence on decisions made by businesses and individuals just as how to search for action alternatives that lead to an optimised tax burden, which I enjoyed very much. But I also learned about other relevant topics such as national and international accounting principles, auditing and the fundamentals of business law.
My academic performance has always been above-average and I am firmly convinced that the knowledge I gained during my studies forms a solid basis to meet the demands of the International and European Tax Law programme and to make a strong contribution.
As a modern tax advisor that helps companies to compete successfully it is necessary to have a global mindset because today’s companies are more global than ever. Furthermore, it is important to have the highest technical skills combined with overall business knowledge. Given the fact that at the XXXX University I can learn from the best in their field and socialise with students from different countries and cultures, I am very confident that the International and European Tax Law programme sets the stage for a successful professional career that I pursue and will open new doors for me.
I will be patiently waiting for your positive reply.
Respectfully yours
