Nowadays animal experiments are widely used to develop new medicines and to test the safety of other products. Some people argue that these experiments should be banned because it is morally wrong to cause animals to suffer , while others are in favour of them because of their benefits to humanity. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Animals have been used for a variety of purposes, including tests to determine the safety and effectiveness of drugs, beauty products or other substances. Although there might be a valid explanation to justify this, I still think that these experiments should be stopped due to the fact that it is ethically unacceptable.

There are several reasons why some people are still pushing the use of animals in the medical field to test products. First of all, the most important thing whenever a new medicine got sold is to ensure that it is safe for everyone to use. Animal testing enables scientists to test the safety of the medication which they going to give to patients. As for cosmetics, animals help to test if those products' origins are reliable and will not cause any allergic reaction when they are used.

However, I am strongly against this idea of using animals for our own benefit. Several activists claimed that the lives of animals should be respected. The purposes of research do not justify the action that causes animals to suffer, with our without painkillers. Also, some alternative ways of testing do not harm animals. So researchers and companies can use those methods, in that way they can ensure both the safety of humans and also free those animals from suffering.

To sum up everything, there are some arguments about whether or not animal testing is necessary. But for me, I believe that we as humans should do our best to protect animals, instead of sacrificing them just for the sake of us, especially when there are other methods we can use.
