Many people are busy with work and do not have enough time to spend with family and friends. Why does this happen? What are the effects of this on family life and society as a whole?

Nowadays people are busier with work and have less time to spend with family and friends than before. This kind of living has negatively affected their family and social life. Several factors have been brought about this phenomenon.

For a number of reasons, people in general work harder these days, as can be seen from their long working hours. Money and social status are the main reasons that motivate them to work more and more. It is believed that we are living in the materialistic world and people are respected based on their assets, position and power. Therefore, a lot of people chose to focus on their career and work overtime. And when they come home, they are often too tired for any quality family time. As well, if there are children, they most likely need to hire a nanny or use a daycare service, again meaning less family time.

As people choose to spend more hours in their workplace, it has negatively affected their family and social life. People are more concerned about making money than maintaining relationships, which results in isolation. It is reported that long working hours have affected the divorce rate. Many youth couples chose to focus on their careers and have less time for their spouse. As a result, both of them lack proper communication and relationships, which is crucial for maintaining a happy and healthy relationship. In the other cases, some children feel ignored by their parents and this has a serious psychological impact. They are most likely to fall into social evils such as addiction to games or drugs, which is a serious issue that society is facing these days.

In conclusion, the consequences of being too busy at work and not spending time with family and society are extremely serious. Therefore, I personally believe that we should have a balanced life between work and family.
