Essay & Composition Writing

Can you help me with my Ielts writing task 2, please? Thank you very much.

Many people say that we have developed into a “throw-away” culture, because we are filling up our environment with so many plastic bags and rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of. To what extent do you agree with this opinion and what measures can you recommend reducing this problem?

Nowadays, people have become more wasting than before and they are blamed for the “throw-away” lifestyle. And that lifestyle has a bad effect on the environment due to all the waste such as plastic bags and rubbish we cannot fully dispose of. In my point of view, I agree with that statement.

First of all, when the economy develops rapidly in recent years, people generate more waste for the environment each year. With the thriving industry, producing products such as plastic bottles, nylon bags or disposable diapers is cheaper and cheaper. That lead to the big problem is that lots of people prefer choosing those non-degradable products become they believe that items are more convenient for their life. However, they do not realize that these products cause an awful effect on the environment. Those items are very difficult to recycle or degradable, as it needs more than a century or a bunch of money to dispose of them. Secondly, people need more landfills these days which leads to the lack of green areas.

However, to solve these problems, we could change our daily habits little by little. For example, instead of buying a plastic bottle of drink, we should buy glass bottle in order to be used repeatedly and good for your health as well. There are many reports said that plastic bottles could cause cancers and other kinds of serious diseases. Another change may include is that we should live green. This is a new lifestyle which is trendy and worldwide known for its benefit and effect.

In conclusion, people become more waste nowadays, as they have a “throw-away” habit. I strongly agree with the statement, and we should change this negative lifestyle immediately.
