Topic: When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try to keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinions?
Nowadays, in some parts of the world, people tend to believe the development of technology has made no sense to remain their conventional skills as well as the ways of their lives. However, I personally disagree with this argurement for some reasons.
On the one hand, traditions are the unique heritage from ancestors and it’s a huge proud of each nation and those values are more appreciated when they are aligning to the needs of new generations. Obviously, we can learn much from previous generations such as experiences or practical policies of our forefathers and the ancient lifestyles. However, those skills will become obsolete if a better skill is a available for everyone. For example, letter is no longer used since it takes time and more money compared with email or messages, which are considered indispensable tools in the modern society.
One the other hand, technology advances not only improve social but also contribute to keep conventional skills and the way people live alive. First, from the social perspective, a country that tries to adapt technology inventions as a foundation of lifestyle, their traditional values will be improved, therefore a country’s culture is also promoted entirely. For instance, by adapting the latest utility into marketing, Japan has made their customs and traditions are known well by people on around the world but their heritages and lifestyles have been still remained so far. Second, technology invention also play an important role in education, it shorten the gap between different areas. In this way, some traditions are preserved and encourage people live in a more confident life. When infrastructure is upgraded, student of ethnic group in some underprivilege areas are enable to assess standard schooling which brings them a chance to exchange their cultural traits to others.
In conclusion, I believe that technology will positively impact the development, image and future of a country when it is taken advantage of in the right way.
