It can be seen that over-grazing, deforestation and over-cultivation are the main reasons why the worldwide land degradation. Over-grazing had the largest percentage with 30% while the propotion of deforestation is shorter by 5%. The percentage of over-cultivation are smallest with 28%.
Most of North American’s land degraded was by over-cultivation with 3,3%. Deforestion occupied 9,8% in the total percentage of land degraded in Europe. Oceania was effected by over-grazing which occupied 11,3% in the total percentages of land degraded.
Overall, agricultural land becomes less productive because of deforestation, over-cultivation, over-grazing and others. In which, the percentage of land degraded by deforestation, over-cultivation and over-grazing was largest in Europe with 23%. North American had the smallest propotion of land degraded by deforestation, over-cultivaltion and over-grazing with 5%.
