CAN YOU HELP ME TO CHECK IT, PLEASE? THANK YOU A LOT

TOPIC: Spoken communication is more powerful than written communication. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The question of whether spoken language or written language is more powerful raised a considerable debate. In my opinion, spoken communication prevails over its counterpart, as it exposes emotions better and is more appealing.

First, verbal language brings more attitude, because of some vocal factors. Voices’ tone and stress always appear in spoken conversation. These play the roles of additives to make speeches have more nuances and more energy. Whereas talking shows the advantage of emotional expression, written language, full of characters, can hardly convey the exact feelings. For example, a sentence can be more energetic and emotional by changing the pitch or emphasizing certain words; however, it will be relatively neutral when being written due to the lack of expressing methods.

Second, spoken communication is commonly supported by non-verbal language, making the conversation more efficient and more fascinating. Body language, such as eye contact, hand gestures, or posture, can expose a sense of meaning and boost speeches’ attractiveness in face-to-face or online meetings. Moreover, it is an exclusive assistant of verbal language, of course not written one. Indeed, negotiators usually choose to meet in person instead of sending e-mails or texting because they can utilize their linguistic ability while speaking and using body language.

In conclusion, I agree that spoken communication is stronger than written one as it is more effective and more attractive with the support of verbal and non-verbal elements.
