Can you help me correct these sentences? Thank you!

Making mistakes helps children become more confident. When I was a kid, teacher Li invited me to give a speech in front of class on how did I think about freedom. I spent two days preparing it, but when I stood in front of the class, I stammered. All the students were laughing at me. Thus, I became afraid of giving speech publicly. However, my mother always gave me chances to speak in public and offered me useful advice, such as how to organize my language efficiently. Now I am much confident and really enjoy speaking publicly.

that is really good, just a few small things, e.g. I would suggest "my teacher..."

You could say *much more confident" too, "more confident" is also 100% correct, ("much confident" is not!)

I have to admit I think many natives would say "all the students were laughing at me" but "all the students laughed at me" is more correct....
