Discuss both views and give your own opinion

My answer:

People have differing views with regard to the question of how to solve the problem that rural children lack of access to school. While some think that it can be addressed by providing educational technologies, I do believe that supplying teachers and schools will bring more benefits to rural communities.

There are some reasons why many think that technologies make great contribution in increasing enrollment in rural areas. Firstly, if they studied with those, they could study at their own pace and not be afraid of making mistakes. For example, a new app called BIN created by MIT graduates allows learners to take multiple choice tests after each lesson, choose the wrong answer and try again until they can grasp all the concepts and skills. Secondly, people who are exposed to these intelligent machines from a young age will more likely to gain technological skills which help them get a good job to improve their life. Thirdly, Internet brings disadvantaged children into contact with the broader world, expand their knowledge and help them fit into not only their own country's cultures but also others.

Nevertheless, despite the benefits to integrating technology in lessons of rural children, I do believe that teachers and schools play a more important role. At present, a significant number of young people are out of school because governments have not increased domestic spending in education, particularly, in recruiting teachers and improving facilities. This means, more and more tutors and educational institutes needed to get children into school, impart knowledge to them and help them achieve their dreams. Moreover, during school time, if they had any question, they would instantly receive detailed answers from real qualified teachers and then gain in-depth knowledge of the subject. As a result, children can thrive academically and become good citizens, which has a positive impact on a nation's economic growth and prosperity, especially, a developing country.

In conclusion, while computers create a good learning environment in impoverished communities, I support the view that developing countries are in desperate need of well-trained teachers and schools to create good citizens and improving the quality of lives of millions of people.
